Effective September 13, 2026. The terms that govern your use of this Site.
Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") before using dementiasteady.com or the Steady Check tool at dementiasteady.com/check (together, the "Site"), owned and operated by Matt Field ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which these Terms incorporate. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
Dementia Steady publishes educational content for family caregivers and senior care organizations: situation guides, field cards, a free course, the Steadier Ground Method, and, for organizations, a professional training program and the Steady Check assessment tool. None of it is medical, legal, or financial advice, and none of it is a substitute for the judgment of a qualified professional who knows your specific situation. See our Privacy Policy's Disclaimer section for more.
You may use the Site and download its guides, cards, and PDFs for your own personal use, or, if you're a care organization, for internal training use. You may not resell, republish, or redistribute anything from this Site, or represent it as your own, without our written permission. You agree not to use the Site in any way that violates the law, interferes with its operation, or attempts to access data or systems you're not authorized to use.
Using this Site, downloading a guide, taking the course, requesting information about the professional program, or receiving a Steady Check or team self-assessment report does not create a doctor-patient relationship, a care-provider relationship, an employment relationship, or any other professional or fiduciary relationship between you and us.
We don't guarantee that using this Site, following any guide or card, completing the course, attending a workshop, or acting on a Steady Check or team self-assessment result will produce any particular outcome. Steady Check and the team self-assessment reflect self-reported and observed practice at a point in time. They are educational tools, not a clinical evaluation, a regulatory audit, a licensure survey, or a certification of compliance with any law or standard, and any decision you make based on a result, including a personnel or staffing decision, is your responsibility alone.
The Site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We don't warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dementia Steady and Matt Field are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site, or from your reliance on any content on it, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
You agree to defend and hold us harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your use of the Site or your violation of these Terms.
The Site links to outside organizations, including the Alzheimer's Association, the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, the Eldercare Locator, and Poison Control. Those links are provided for convenience. We don't control, and aren't responsible for, the content or practices of any site we don't operate.
We may update these Terms from time to time, and will update the effective date above when we do. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
